The GP17 appears to be a sideways step from last year's version, a few improvements but none that seem to add up to speed on the track. D'Alligna has spent an awful lot of time discussing the winglet issue in the press, but seemingly little time developing a working solution around the 2017 rules. Ducati are the only major manufacturer, as far as I am aware, that have not homologated a front downforce fairing for this year. Perhaps they do not want to use up their 1 new design on the wrong version, so it seems logical that at Mugello, a fast and local track, they will bring something new? If not, I have to question where they are going.
